Installation
Wall Tiles
- Measure and mark the vertical midpoint of the wall.
- Place a tile against the wall and mark a horizontal line across the entire wall.
- Mix the thinset mortar and apply on the wall and the tile.
- Set the bottom tiles first and move your way upwards.
Floor Tiles
- Mark the midpoint of the wall and the floor and connect opposite walls with chalk lines.
- Arrange the tiles on a flat surface adjacent to the bathroom as per your layout plan.
- Mark and cut tiles to fit the corners.
- Mix thinset mortar.
- Starting from the corner opposite the door, spread a small amount of mortar on the floor.
- Smear mortar on the underside of the tile and press down.
- Add spacers and set the next tile close, in-line with the first.
- Check the level using a bubble level.
- Continue till the entire floor is covered with tiles.
- Set the cut, corner tiles in place.
- Allow thinset to dry and remove spacers.
Fill the gaps in between two tiles with grout. Ensure you wipe off grout from the surface with damp sponge. Allow the grout to cure thoroughly. Finally, apply a good quality tile sealant to protect the surface.
Moreover, when the tiles are properly sealed, you do not have to take much special efforts for care and maintenance.
